What do you do at Revolution?
I am the Director of REVkids, which means I get to have a lot of fun! I oversee our Infants through 5th-grade classes, develop leaders, provide administrative support, coordinate events, and oversee weekly operations. I'm working toward the vision of partnering with parents to create a culture that connects the home and church in such a way that impacts kids and families in a radical and lasting way. My husband & I also lead a REVcommunity.
I spent 7 years traveling with a ministry that performed Christian plays in churches, schools, nursing homes, and prisons. During that time I had many opportunities to work with children teaching them character education and doing drama workshops. I also spent 2 of those years as the Supervisor leading a group of people, performing, booking shows, directing plays, teaching, event coordinating, and record keeping. Then I finished up my time with the ministry as their Director of development - coordinating fundraising, writing newsletters, record keeping, and tracking finances.
I have spent the last 6 years at Revolution serving in the Kid's ministry gaining experience and a wealth of knowledge from other leaders.
I am also the mother of two little girls who teach me lots of valuable lessons and information each day.
Tell us about your family.
I have been married for 7 years to my amazing husband Chuck, who is known for his epic beard. We have two girls. Joanna,5, is very passionate and has a very cool imagination. Malin, 2, is funny and quite the little songbird.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy spending time with my family going to the zoo, children's museum, desert museum, hiking, camping, or watching football. I also enjoy time hanging out with friends, sipping coffee, going for a walk, and watching a good movie or TV show.
What bands are you listening to right now?
We really love music in our house and between my husband and I we have about 40 differents stations in Pandora so we can listen to whatever strikes our mood.
Who are your favorite authors?
You know, I just started to really get back into regularly reading books. Basically, I am a second hand reader - whatever my trusted friends have read, approved on, and suggested or handed over to me - is usually where I start.
