- Series: Weird
When you hear the word weird, images of Lady Gaga come to mind, or if you are older, Weird Al. Weird is something you do in our culture to define yourself, to stand out, in an effort to be indefinable by friends and family, to beat to your own drum.
According to the Dictionary, Weird means something or suggesting something involving the supernatural, unearthly or uncanny, fantastic or bizarre.
According to Scripture, when someone thinks of a follower of Jesus, the word weird should come to mind. According to 1 Peter 2, we are aliens, exiles on earth.
This spring at Revolution Church, we are going to preach through the books of 1 & 2 Peter and look at this idea of being weird. We will look at how we truly follow Jesus in a way that causes people to ask questions, in a way that says we don’t belong. We will do this by looking at how we live when it comes to trial and pain, submitting to authority (godly and ungodly), in marriage, as a single, when dealing with sin in our lives and to finish off 2 Peter, we will spend 4 weeks looking at how this topic deals with heaven, hell and the afterlife.
